This one’s for all of you mamas and yoga enthusiasts out there. Or just for anyone who likes to wear comfy pants. Let’s be honest, yoga pants are today’s mom uniform. If you’re like me and you essentially live in your mom bus to shuttle the kids all over, you prefer comfort over fashion. Anyone else get uncomfortable from the button on your jeans digging into your stomach when you sit down? No? Just me? I don’t know, ever since I had kids, I can’t wear anything low-rise anymore. I constantly feel the need to pull my waistband up near my belly button. And now I understand why they invented mom jeans {forehead slap}.
I’ve worn so many different brands of yoga pants over the years. I used to work at a barre studio for a very long time, and got to sample some of the finest lines. The fun in that was that I never committed to one brand and each line had a different fit, so my athleisure wardrobe was fairly versatile.
I have lived in Florida for the last 4+ years, so I’ve been able to wear yoga capris nearly 365 days a year. However, we recently moved to the northern quadrant of the state and apparently there are seasons. I legitimately had to pull my ski coat out of storage the first week I lived here. So I’m excited that I get to wear my full length yoga pants in the winter!
My yoga pants collection is quite varied. I have tried a number of brands from Amazon, as well as from brick-and-mortar stores. Each brand has its own unique signature style or fabric, and I like them each for different reasons. Any that I didn’t like were donated or sold on Poshmark.
My current everyday fave is from a brand called Baleaf, that I found on Amazon. The line is made in Italy and offers various styles, fabrics, and colors. I have their capris in 7 different colors (they’re like the days of the week underwear!).
Three of the styles that I own have these awesome pockets on the sides of the thighs, which are perfect for the gym or a running workout-or chasing toddlers, because they hold your phone and keys securely. The three that I have are solid black, a gray heather (black gray) and blue heather (dark blue).
The other four that I own are the same style, simple capris without pockets. There is, however, an inner key pocket inside the waistband.
I have those in gothic grape (which is a dark purple, dark blue (which is navy), dewberry (which is a pretty pinkish purple), and estate blue (which is a brighter, more royal blue). I have had these pants for 2 years and kept ordering one color after the next. I couldn’t get enough!
I even recently purchased this super comfy yoga top from Baleaf. I like that it has thumb holes and it’s not tight fitting. It’s great to throw over a tank top and the fabric is soft and breathable.
They have expanded their collection to include rash guards, skirts, padded bike shorts, bathing suits, compression socks, men’s athletic wear, and so much more. I love how their pants come in so many different lengths and waist heights, for those who like low waisted or high waisted pants. I have yet to try the newer items, but if my previous purchases are any indication of the quality and durability, I will be a repeat happy customer.
A note about caring for Baleaf clothing. I wash all of my Baleaf pants on a cold cycle and I hang them to air dry. I never put them in the dryer. They still look brand new, even 2 years later, with frequent wear (read: daily). If you don’t have one already, invest in a good drying rack. Your wardrobe and your wallet will thank you.
