This summer, my twins attended day camp where swimming was a daily activity. Every morning they’d get dressed in their bathing suits and head to camp with their gear to change into after swimming. I filled their camp bags with towels, a change of clothes, shoes, lunches, water bottles, and wet bags. When I was pregnant with the twins, I had registered for these Itzy Ritzy wet bags, with the thought that I would keep them in my diaper bag to toss in wet and soiled burp cloths from any outings we took.
Truth be told, we rarely ventured out of the house during the first 9 months of their lives, save for doctors appointments. As the babies got older and we participated in ISR (Infant Self-Rescue, survival swimming lessons) at a local indoor swimming facility, the bags came in handy to hold wet bathing suits. If I was quick enough to roll their towels up into tiny burritos, I was able to fit them into the bags as well. But this proved to be a challenge, as I juggled handing off one twin into the pool to swim, while scooping the other one out to dry off and change. Ultimately, my tote bag would get pretty saturated in the short amount of time the wet towel was in it. I never really sought out a solution, because my one-time search for a larger bag proved futile, as it seemed I already owned the largest bag on the market. So, I forgot about my search for a few years.
After days of wet tote bags coming home from camp this summer, with just the wet bathing suits inside the Itzy Ritzy bags and the wet towel either loose in the tote bag or crammed into a plastic grocery bag, I decided to do another Amazon search for a better alternative. Finally! Someone made bigger bags that can accommodate bathing suits AND towels!
I purchased this two-pack so that each twin would have a wet bag for camp. After receiving them and testing them out, they did not disappoint!
In addition to the two-pack, I came across this monster wet bag that can hold EVERYTHING!
I decided to order this ginormous one for family beach outings. It’s marketed for holding wet and soiled cloth diapers, with a zipper and snap closure, a zippered front pocket, and handles to hang it from a stroller. We recently attended a 4th of July BBQ and swim party, where all 4 of us swam. I was able to comfortably fit all 4 of our towels and bathing suits into the one large bag. As soon as we got home, I just unzipped it and dumped all of the contents into the washing machine. Easy peasy!
These bags are so versatile. Toss them into your diaper bag, beach bag, or throw them into your luggage. You can use them to separate wet or dirty clothes from clean clothes and belongings. They are machine washable and very durable. I love that there are now more size options for wet bags to meet every need, and they are environmentally-friendly, as they eliminate the need to use a plastic grocery bag.
Do you use wet bags?
