I am so honored to share with you that I’ve been nominated for the Sunshine Blogger Award by the adorable The Vegas Mom (thanks, mama!). The Sunshine Blogger Award is given to those who are creative, positive, and inspiring, while spreading sunshine to the blogging community. It’s also an engaging and fun way for you to learn a little about me!
As you know, I’m fairly new to the blogging world. I’ve been having a great time connecting with fellow bloggers and other people who share the same interests as I do over the various forms of social media. There are a few blogger awards out in the blogging universe whereby people nominate each other as a way to recognize hard work and creativity.
How the Sunshine Blogger Award Works:
The Rules:
- Thank the blogger who nominated you in the blog post and link back to their blog.
- Answer the 11 questions the blogger asked you.
- Nominate up to 11 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions.
- List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post and/or on your blog.
My Answers:
I’ve been tapped to answer the following questions:
1. Why did you start blogging?
I have a passion for writing and storytelling. I started blogging as a way to help others navigate through various situations in life, especially with young children, twins, and children with special needs. I also wanted to share my love of cooking, home decor and DIY projects, so it’s all neatly packaged on one handy website: https://www.twinstantgratification.com.
2. What is your favorite season?
That would have to be fall. I grew up in New England and loved the foliage and cooler air. I’ve since moved to Florida, where fall has an entirely new meaning, but we do get a winter season that is cool enough to allow me to experience some crisp days, and dare I say even a sweater or two!
3. What is one food or drink you could eat/drink every day and never get tired of?
Guacamole. Hands down.
4. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A news reporter. I studied journalism in college and dreamed of becoming a professional reporter. I worked at my hometown newspaper during the summers when I was in college, but I veered off course and went to law school after graduating. While I didn’t become a reporter, I’m hoping to use my blog to continue my love of writing and sharing content with you, my dear readers!
5. Where in the world do you want to go the most?
Oooh this is a tough one. I absolutely love Italy and would love to return for many more visits. I also have Australia on my bucket list!
6. What is your favorite part about blogging?
My favorite part about blogging is connecting and engaging with people from all corners of the country, and feeling a sense of community with people I’ve become friends with but have never met in person. It’s so wonderful to find people with similar interests to connect with and share ideas and inspiration with.
7. What’s the best book you’ve ever read?
Come back to me on that. I’ve read too many to pick a favorite!
8. Do you prefer tea or coffee?
Tea. Interesting fact: I don’t like coffee (I’ve only tried it once), but I love Haagen Daaz coffee flavored ice cream. Go figure.
9. How long have you been blogging?
A whopping 4 months!
10. What advice would you give 16 year old you?
Sunscreen. WEAR SUNSCREEN. Don’t lay out in the sun. That sunburn and the fun you have peeling the burnt skin will only result in skin damage (and maybe biopsies) in your 30s. Trust me. #beentheredonethat
11. What is your zodiac sign?
Virgo
My Questions:
- What’s your favorite comfort food?
- What’s one interesting thing about you that people don’t know?
- If you could remodel any room in your home, which one would it be and what style would you choose to redo it in?
- What destination is at the top of your bucket list?
- Why did you start blogging?
- What’s your favorite season?
- What’s your favorite room in your home?
- What’s your favorite life hack that you always use?
- What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?
- If you could go back in time, what one thing would you have done differently?
- What’s one piece of advice your parent(s) gave you that you cherish to this day?

I’m totally with you when it comes to fall moving from NY to Vegas. It’s funny, but I’m the complete opposite. I LOVE coffee, and I don’t really like coffee ice cream! I love tea too though. I loved your answers!
