This is a super easy baking hack that I love sharing. If you want to make a special cake and make people think that you slaved over it all day, grab yourself a box of cake mix, a container of frosting, and some rainbow sprinkles. The trick to this awesomeness is in the bakeware. You’ll need one springform pan and one square pan. You can have a lot of fun decorating this cake any way your heart desires (see what I did there?!).
Heart-Shaped Cake
Ingredients
- 1 Box Yellow (or any flavor that you prefer) Cake Mix
- 1 Container of Vanilla Frosting
- Rainbow Sprinkles
Directions
- Step 1 Prepare the cake mix according to the instructions on the box.
- Step 2 Divide the batter evenly between a springform pan and a square pan.
- Step 3 Bake according to the instructions on the box.
- Step 4 Remove from oven and allow to cool completely.
- Step 5 Place the square cake on a flat surface so that it looks like a diamond.
- Step 6 Cut the round cake evenly in half.
- Step 7 Put each half on either side of the top part of the diamond so that the entire cake looks like the shape of a heart.
- Step 8 Frost the top of the cake with the frosting.
- Step 9 Decorate the edges with sprinkles. Enjoy!
